WECRD considers an electronic reader board to keep community up-to-date

On Feb. 26 the Western Elmore County Recreation District held its monthly meeting. The meeting began with the district renewing its yearly water lease with John Kieffer. In exchange for paying for the yearly fees from the Mountain Home Irrigation District and taking care of the weeds on the property Kieffer will once gain be able to use the district’s water right for this season.

During the construction update of the agenda the board was informed that the district had gotten back the construction scopes from the construction manager for its next phase of construction, which will bring the entire lot up to finished grade making it a ‘ready to build site.’ The board approved the package and putting it out to bid.

Board of Directors President Dan Gillies brought up purchasing an LED sign for discussion. Directors Lee Pierce and Doug Meyer both felt that the discussion was premature, but Gillies felt it was something that needed to be given some thought sooner rather then later.
