WECRD gives presentation on Pool Facility

Wednesday, February 26, 2020

The Western Elmore County Recreation District held a fundraiser barbecue with a presentation about their indoor pool project immediately afterward on Feb. 22nd.

The event drew a decent sized crowd of stakeholders and people who were interested to see the progress the board is making towards the long awaited recreation facility.

The presentation began with an introduction of the companies and a timeline of the project since the new Board of Directors took over in January of 2018.

In June of 2018, the conceptual design of the facility vision was completed, Sept. 2018 they contracted with Lombard Conrad Architects to design the facility, Jan. 2019 they contracted with Wright Brothers to be the construction manager, in July 2019 the construction documents were completed and in Dec. 2019 the sidewalk construction was completed.

The next step in the process will be Phase II of the site work which will include finishing grading out the project and paving the parking lot, which is slated to begin in spring 2020.

The board has decided on a Sprung Structure for the facility, citing its durable nature, rapid construction, energy efficiency and the lower costs of the structure as the reasons.
