City appoints new Building Official

The Mountain Home City Council met on Dec. 9. During the opening of the meeting Councilman Matt Bundy took a few minutes to speak about the Light the Forest event the Friday before. Councilman Bundy said that he saw many of his former students at the event and took that as a good sign in a town who is trying to get the younger generation to return to the community they were raised in. To see so many former residents to come back to see the town Christmas tree be lit, showed Councilman Bundy that the town is on the right track in that regard.

Before approving the consent agenda Councilman Jimmy Schipani asked to remove the item pertaining to the appointing of a new Building Officer.

Mike McCain has been serving in the position, but had to resign once he was elected as a city councilman due to the potential for a conflict of interest.
