Glenns Ferry Mayor Monte White looks on while Governor Brad Little proclaims the town the Capital for the Day.

Governor Brad Little recently held a “Capital for the Day” event in Glenns Ferry at the Historic Opera Theater on Nov. 26. During these events the governor, along with state officials from different departments and representatives of Idaho’s Congressional Delegation, set up a panel and take questions from the audience on a wide range of subjects.

Before the event, Governor Little released a statement announcing that “I look forward to engaging in productive discussions with the people of Glenns Ferry and Elmore County at the upcoming Capital for a Day. The pioneer spirit that built this community still remains, fostering much needed conversation about agriculture, water rights, land use and more.” Though the Mountain Home News wasn’t in attendance for the full day, staff was there for most of it and a wide variety of questions were asked of the governor and the panel.
