Mercedes V. Morris

Mercedes V. Morris, age 84, of Mountain Home, took God’s hand peacefully on October 11, 2019. Services on Thursday, October 17, 2019 will be held at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, with a viewing from 4:00PM until the 6:00PM Rosary. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, October 18, 2019, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church and burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

Mercedes was born August 2, 1935, the daughter of Juan Del Viejo and Josefa Guerrero.

She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and loyal friend to many. Her larger than life personality enabled her to command any room she was in.

She was born in Spain and moved to Mountain Home as a military wife following many years of travel abroad to many countries.

She was a loyal employee of the Mountain Home School District for 23 plus years. She retired and remained in the area to be close to her children.

Mercedes is survived by her son Juan Jose Morris, her daughter Mercedes Isabél Morris-Walser, and son Don Ramón Morris, her sisters Isabél Del Viejo Guerrero and Anágela Del Viejo, 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald James Morris, her father Juan Del Viejo, her brothers Juan Del Viejo Guerrero & Andrews Del Viejo Guerrero and her mother Josefa Guerrero.
