Sgt. Brian Fields is presented with a check from the proceeds of the Guns vs. Hoses softball game.

The Mountain Home City Council met on Oct. 15, 2019. As the meeting started, the Council Chamber was filled with members of the MHFD and law enforcement as the Mountain Home Masonic Lodge presented Sgt. Brian Fields with a check in the amount of $2,205.34.

Sgt. Fields suffered devastating injuries during an off-duty motorcycle accident. When members of the first responder family learned of the extent of his injuries, they quickly went to the Masonic Lodge and asked them their feelings on changing the Annual Guns vs. Hoses Softball game into a benefit to help his family with medical expenses.

Mike Keas of the Masonic Lodge, who organizes the softball game, said that the game is meant as a way to show their appreciation for what first responders do and is their small way of paying them back. He went on to say that when they were approached about turning it into a fundraiser for Sgt. Fields and his family that they jumped on the opportunity. He went on to offer thanks to the community for all of the support that was shown for the event.
