The first hour of the Oct. 4, meeting of the Elmore County Commissioners was spent in Executive Session. Once the Executive session ended, there was a whirlwind of quick motions and seconds that were carried and so ordered. They were items such as expenses and payroll. A couple blinks of the eye and they had moved on.

They then discussed a previous issue with a payroll change that had now been approved and resolved. The issue was caused by the payroll change being submitted incorrectly. The commissioners discussed how to submit payroll changes correctly, gave a reminder that their cell phone numbers were public if they had questions and invited the officer and Sheriff Mike Hollinshead to join the Commissioners Meetings more often.

Afterwards, there was a short update by Elmore County Prosecutor Daniel Page. The Prosecutor’s Office has approx. 549 active cases with about 238 of those being felony cases. It was mentioned that this was high for the size of Elmore County and a bit of an overburden for the recommended amount of felony cases per attorney for a year.
