Wednesday, September 11, 2019
Representatives from Public Works, Economic Development, the Street Department, Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce, Horrocks Engineers, Guho Corp and city officials hold a ceremonial groundbreaking for the Downtown Project at Railroad Park on Sept. 9.

The City of Mountain Home held a groundbreaking ceremony Sept. 9 to mark the beginning of North Main St. construction on its Downtown Revitalization Project. The project addresses much needed infrastructure repair and improvements, including stormwater drainage and sidewalk repair and expansion. Best design practices for pedestrian safety, walkability and Americans With Disabilities Act compliance updates have been incorporated to encourage foot traffic while slowing automobile traffic through the area.

The project will begin on Main St. at East Jackson and continue toward East 5th North St. Construction will be staggered to minimize the impact on local businesses and is projected to be complete by December 2019. Construction on North and South 2nd East is expected to begin in 2020 and will incorporate the same repairs and improvements.
