Clarence Joseph

Clarence Joseph, 94, of Mountain Home, husband, father, grandfather, and devoted friend, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2019. He was born February 28, 1925 in Loreauville, Louisiana, the only son of Ephrem Joseph and Emma Jones. A Veteran of World War II and Viet Nam, he served in the Army Air Corp and the United States Air Force for 29 years. He was an active member of the Masonic Order, American Legion, DAV, and 40 and 8. Clarence worked as a civilian with the Defense Commissary Agency for many years after retiring from the military. He volunteered at the Senior Center driving a van that transported senior citizens to their appointments. He worked with the Veterans Administration Center Board overseeing the workings within the center. Clarence continued to serve on the board while living in the center as a resident. Clarence was active with the city of Mountain Home Development Services Department Zoning and Planning Commission. He also served his community by being a member on the Black History Committee for several years.

Clarence loved his family and doted on his grandchildren. Clarence was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Anne Mae Joseph. Clarence is survived by three children, Clarence and his wife Fredericka of Harmans, Maryland, Ralph of Mountain Home, daughter Lori Shaw and her husband Carlton of Holland, Michigan, and two grandchildren, Clarence William of Harmans, Maryland and Ericka Marie of Clinton, Maryland.

Services will be held on Monday, August 19, 2019, at First Congregational Church, 515 E 15 North, in Mountain Home. Viewing begins at 9:00AM-9:45AM service begins at 10:00AM with burial will follow with full military honors at Mountain View Cemetery, in Mountain Home. Arrangements are under the care of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
