59th Annual Basque Picnic this weekend

The 59th Basque Festival will take place this Saturday, Aug. 3, at the Basque Park in Mountain Home.

The yearly event will open its gates to the public at 2 p.m. Traditional Basque food will be served all day including chorizos, lamb and beans.

The Basque games will begin at 5 p.m. with the youth age groups going first. Later in the evening, the crowds will be entertained by the Oinkari Basque Dancers who will perform traditional Basque Folk Dances.

Beginning at 9 p.m. it’s the crowds turn to dance the night away when the band Ruckus takes the stage for a street dance that will finish out the night’s festivities.
