Rep. Zito named Idaho Library Association Legislator of the Year

Rep. Christy Zito, the Grinch and Library Director William Lamb entertain children at the MHPL’s yearly Christmas event. Zito and Lamb’s partnership and her willingness to be a guest reader at events were two of the reasons listed for Zito’s nomination.

The Mountain Home Public Library is please to announce that local Representative Christy Zito has been named the 2019 Idaho Library Association Legislator of the Year.

Rep. Zito was nominated by MHPL Director William Lamb who received a letter of support from Hailey Public Library Director LeAnn Gelskey.

For a Legislator to be honored with the award they have to demonstrate a strong commitment to Idaho libraries. In his nomination letter Director Lamb said, "Representative Zito has been a selfless advocate for libraries in our state and has proven time and time again that she is willing to make the hard decisions to try and do what is best for our libraries and the communities we serve."
