Jacalyn Lou Sims, 65, of Mountain Home, passed away suddenly at her home on Saturday, July 8, 2017. A celebration of her life and a potluck will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 23, 2017, at Carl Miller Park in Mountain Home. Cremation was under the care of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

Jacalyn was born May 24, 1952, in Nampa, the daughter of Elmer and Della Robertson. She graduated from Nampa High School and received her CNA from Boise State University.

She met Michael E. Sims, and they were married in 1973 at Chicken Rock in Cascade. Together, they had two children, Michael and Nicole. They later divorced but remained very close.

Beside Cascade, she lived in Boise, Nampa and Craigmont, Idaho; and Everett, Wash.; and finally settling in Mountain Home. She enjoyed keeping in touch with family and friends, she was adventurous and always upbeat.

She was outgoing and enjoyed sewing, crafts, gardening and flowers. She was very welcoming to anyone who needed help and she was an avid “VW” person.

Jacalyn is loved and will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Jacalyn is survived by her son, Michael A. Sims; her daughter, Nicole L. Sims; and three grandchildren, all of Mountain Home. She is also survived by her sister, Noma Eddins of Horseshoe Bend; and her brothers, Ronald Robertson of Fruitland and John Robertson of Nampa.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Richard Robertson and Howard Robertson.

The family would like to thank all that knew her and for helping her have an amazing life.
