Police arrest Michigan man following robbery attempt

A Michigan man remains in custody at the Elmore County Jail following his arrest on Thursday in connection with an attempted robbery at the Mountain Home Wal-Mart.

Jason Granger, 32, faces multiple felony charges of attempted robbery and burglary in addition to a misdemeanor count of theft by receiving, possessing or disposing of stolen property.

City police responded to the store around 11:30 a.m. that morning following reports that a customer was making threats. A man later identified as Granger had purchased a money gram from the customer service area and then demanded money in the cash register, stating that he had a gun while displaying a holster in his waistband.
