A surveillance camera from the Price Less Mini-Mart in Glenns Ferry captured this image of a man authorities have identified as Robert Earl Lee, who is accused of breaking into the convenience store early Tuesday.

A man remains in custody at the Elmore County Jail following his arrest on Tuesday in connection with a burglary in Glenns Ferry.

Robert Earl Lee, 32, stands accused of forcing his way into the Price Less Mini-Mart around 12:30 a.m. that day.

Authorities responded to the convenience store following a call from an alarm company regarding the break in with the first deputy arriving on scene within five minutes. The deputy immediately located a point of forced entry into the store.

The sheriff's office quickly obtained video footage of the store where authorities were able to identify the suspect.

Lee is known to law enforcement through prior contacts with both Idaho State Police troopers and sheriff's deputies within the last couple of days. A press release from Sheriff Mike Hollinshead indicated that Lee had stopped in the area and that he was passing through.

Representatives from multiple agencies, including the Mountain Home Police Department and a search and tracking canine team from the Twin Falls County Sheriff's Office, helped patrol officers and detectives conduct a search for the suspect.

A search for Lee continued throughout the night and into the daylight hours when he was sighted by a group of concerned citizens from the Hammett and Glenns Ferry area. The Glenns Ferry School District was placed in lock-down status for a short time until Lee was taken into custody.

The sheriff's office added that Lee has a lengthy criminal history with prior arrests for burglary, communicating threats to law enforcement, battery and drug use.

It wasn't immediately known what items Lee is accused of stealing as well as their dollar amount. The sheriff’s office is continuing the investigation.
