Supporting the fire department

Michael and Rae Ann Stoecker presented a check totaling more than $1,000 to city fire chief Mark Moore and Lt. Chris Corbus from the city fire department during a gathering Jan. 11. The owners of Stoecker's Jewelers raised money by selling a special bracelet set over the Christmas season with the proceeds going to the fire department's "burnout" fund, which provides immediate help to families and individuals who lose their homes and property due to fires. In recent years, the Stoeckers have held these types of fund raisers with past contributions going toward Toys For Tots, the Mountain Home Animal Shelter and local area food bank. "We try to keep everything local," Michael Stoecker said.
