The Lady Tigers varsity soccer team wrapped up its regular season last week with a win against Ridgevue while losing to Bishop Kelly.

Mountain Home 3, Ridgevue 1

During their Oct. 4 battle, the Lady Tigers roared to life 48 seconds in the opening half as senior Jacey Carr sent the ball behind Ridgevue's defense where senior Violet Martinez went on the fast break to score. But the Lady Tigers were not going relinquish the lead as Martinez stole the ball and made her second goal 16 minutes later to give Mountain Home a 2-0 lead going into half time.

The second half started out with lots of back and forth in an extremely physical battle. This led to four yellow cards called against both teams.

The Lady Tigers scored again in the third after Anna Pedroza cleared ball out of Mountain Home's goal but caused a corner kick. Ridgevue missed the shot with Carr clearing a shot out of defensive end to a waiting McKenzie Sloan, who took the ball in for the goal to give the Lady Tigers a 3-0 lead.

With one second on the clock, Ridgevue took a Hail Mary shot that landed in the goal with Mountain Home finishing with the win. Tayde Rodriguez was credited with six saves for the Lady Tigers.

Mountain Home 0, Bishop Kelly 3

Knowing they were facing a very physical and fast game last Thursday, the Lady Tigers set up a more defensive battle against the Lady Knights. This allowed Mountain Home to keep Bishop Kelly at bay as they finished the scoreless opening half.

But Mountain Home just couldn't get the ball going in their favor as the Lady Knights dominated in the second half with three goals to finish the season with a shutout against the Lady Tigers.

The Lady Tigers varsity girls soccer team finished the season with a 10-4-2 record. They began the post season on Monday during the varsity high seed tournament with the district games starting today, Oct. 12 at Bishop Kelly.
