Student-led protest ends, settlement reached

Students at Mountain Home High School staged a protest last week after controversy arose involving personalized parking spaces on school grounds. The protests came to a peaceful resolution late last week as district officials met with student leaders seeking a compromise that would allow students to redesign their personalized parking spaces while still meeting federal guidelines regarding these areas.

An issue over painted parking spaces at Mountain Home High School that flared up into a student-led protest last week came to an end as district officials and students reached a compromise.

The controversy involved student parking spaces on the north end of the high school in which teens paid for a specific spot with the option of painting the spaces to personalize them.
