UPDATE: Student protest comes to an end

Thursday, September 22, 2016

The student-led protest regarding student painted parking spots at Mountain Home High School came to an end Wednesday afternoon.

In a memorandum, district superintendent James Gilbert said the protest officially ended at 4 p.m. that day following a meeting between district and student representatives.

"Members of the Mountain Home Student body and school officials are working collaboratively toward a resolution to the situation that is agreeable to all involved," Gilbert said.

More information will appear in the Sept. 28 edition of the Mountain Home News.

Still trying to figure out exactly what the protest was about. Lots of heated discussion on social media but no one actually said a definite reason.

Jimmy Hoffa may be the only one who can truly answer that question.
