Pet control issues raise concerns across city

Mountain Home Animal Shelter assistant Hank Patrick spends some quality time with a tiger stripped tabby that shelter officials said was likely abandoned by a Mountain Home resident. The friendly, talkative female feline was one of four cats available for adoption at the local shelter.

Thursday was an especially busy day for Danniele Strain and her team. During their shift at the Mountain Home Animal Shelter, they had picked up seven dogs that were running loose through town with concerned citizens turning in two others.

The story had a happy ending for six of those dogs, all of which had ID tags that had them quickly reunited them with their owners. The same wasn't necessarily true for the remaining three, who were going to remain at the shelter until someone claimed them.
