Thursday, February 18, 2016

Mountain Home Rural Fire Department firefighters Rick Vanmeer, assistant fire chief Bud Corbus and Hank Patrick continue to keep a watch over home after crews battled a fire in a two-story structure at 4161 Northeast Rancho Way the morning of Feb. 10. The fire inside the attached, two-stall garage was contained within minute by the crew of 20 firefighters, who used two water tenders and two rural structural engines to fight the fire. "They all did a great job," said assistant fire chief Bud Corbus regarding the team's response. Listed as an accidental fire, Corbus said the homeowners did the right thing by keeping the doors to the garage closed to keep the fire from spreading.
