Local landfill could close

Financial problems involving a regional landfill on Simco Road could lead to serious repercussions for Elmore County residents.

The management of the Idaho Waste System's landfill, a 640 acre regional landfill, was taken over by the sole lienholder in May due to financial problems and irregularities, officials said.
