A large-scale military exercise across parts of southern Idaho last month became a lesson learned for officials at Mountain Home Air Force Base after it caught local farmers, commercial pilots and city workers off guard.

The local Gunfighter Flag exercise held in mid-April led to unintended consequences after military jamming equipment used to train aircrews also blocked navigation signals used by local farmers, pilots and city workers.
