Blaine Henry Allen, 57, of Marsing, Idaho, formerly of Glenns Ferry, passed away Nov. 22, 2014, in Caldwell, Idaho, surrounded by his loving wife and family.

He was born to John and JoAnn Allen on May 27, 1957, in Gooding, Idaho, the third boy of five.

Blaine graduated from Glenns Ferry High School in 1976. He did not attend higher education but was a self-educated man.

Oct. 8, 1977, Blaine married his high school sweetheart, Lucile Finlayson, and together they had three daughters.

Blaine worked in a variety of jobs to support his growing family. During the early years he worked at Haney Seed & Bean and Magic West. He also shoed horses to make ends meet, all in the Glenns Ferry area.

In 2005 Blaine and Lucile decided it was time for a change of scenery and moved to Marsing. There Blaine was owner and operator of Snake River Hoof Trimming until his passing.

He was a gentle, tough, loving and devoted husband, dad, son, papa, uncle, brother, brother-in-law, friend. This man who wore many hats was looking to lend a helping hand and always rooted for the underdog. He will be greatly missed by many.

Blaine attended the Vision Bible Church of God in Marsing.

He also enjoyed riding horses and spending time with his family and most of all attending his grandkids' activities, from cheerleading to rodeo. Let's not forget his weekly phone call to his brother-in-law, Mark, talking BSU football.

Blaine is survived by his wife, Lucile, of 37 years, three daughters, Niki (Jim) Griggs, Jaci (Bob) Craig and Anni Allen, a son, Jake Arellano (Dusty), 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Blaine is also survived by his mother, JoAnn Allen, and brothers Frank, Randy and Dan, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, all who will miss him dearly.

Blaine was preceded in death by his father, John, a brother, Dennis, and grandson Jed Griggs.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Vision Bible Church of God (4920 Lifeline Dr., Marsing, ID, 83639).

Memorial services will be held at the VFW Hall in Glenns Ferry, Idaho (132 E. Fifth St,) on Wednesday, Nov. 26, at 2 p.m.
