Track squad places during Skyview Invitational meet

The Mountain Home Tigers track squads found the going tough at Friday's 12-team Skyview Invitational track meet, finishing sixth in the boys' competition and 10th in the girls' action.

Skyview won the girls' meet with 127 points. Mountain Home was 10th with 25 points.

Whitney Sandberg was the leading scorer for the Lady Tigers, finishing third in the 100 meters, eighth in the 200 and was a member of Mountain Home's sprint medley relay team, along with Alexandra Tatum, Kaitlyn Whiteley and Tracey Gordon, which finished third.

Others placering for Mountain Home were Makena Carson with a fifth place in the 300-meter hurdles, a seventh-place effort by Allyson Elms in the high jump, and eighth-place efforts by Arisha Karren in the 800 meters and Kailyn Whiteley in the 100-meter high hurdles.

Skyview also won the boys' competition, scoring 29 points. Mountain Home was sixth with 54 points.

Tristan Jammerman was Mountain Home's top finisher, with a third in the 110-meter high hurdles. He also placed sixth in the 300-meter hurdles.

Sam Benzie finished fourth in the long jump and was sixth in the 100-meter dash. Devin Wright and Eric Reetz also had fourth-place efforts, Wright in the 400 meters and Reetz in the 300-meter hurdles.

Dallin Dearing finished sixth in the discus and eighth in the shot put.

Andy Croft finished sixth in the 3200-meter run.

Others scoring were Jett Cristobal, who finished seventh in the triple jump, and John Thomas Frierson, who finished eighth in the triple jump.

The Tigers' 4x200-meter relay team of Jonathan Deese, John Thomas Frierson, Jacob Ryan and AJ Daniels. Deese, Chance Llewellyn, Ryan and Daniels finished fourth in the 4x100-meter relay.

The Mountain Home squad goes to the Twin Falls Invitational track meet on Friday.
