Stuffing the bus

Friday, November 29, 2013

From left, Jacob Scheiferstein joins Cheyenne and Suzanne Bolin to load food into the back of a school bus during a food drive on Saturday.

Hosted this year by the Caldwell Transportation Company, the "Stuff the Bus" food drive collected canned and non-perishable food at drop-off points located at Paul's Market, Albertson's and the Grace Lutheran Food Pantry.

Saturday's event brought in an estimated 3,000 pounds of food to benefit the Grace Lutheran Food Pantry as well as the El Ada Community Action Agency in Mountain Home. In 2012, a similar effort collected more than 8,000 pounds of canned and non-perishable food. The Caldwell Transportation Company will hold a second "Stuff the Bus" event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 14 at the same locations.
