The Mountain Home Lady Tigers soccer squad came away with a split of their games last week, losing to Skyview but beating Emmett.

Skyview 2, Mountain Home 0

The Lady Tigers dropped a tough, 2-0 conference soccer game to Skyview Tuesday at Skyview.

The defensive battle was scoreless at halftime, but Skyview managed to get two goals through the next second half for the win, according to the team's coach.

"It was a good defensive battle," said Mountain Home girls soccer coach Kent Ogaard. "It was a very physical game, and the refs let them play for the most part. It was a very even match."

Mountain Home had six shots on goal against the Lady Hawks. Missy Jessup had 15 saves on goal for Mountain Home.

Mountain Home 4, Emmett 1

Mountain Home returned to the win column last Thursday, downing Emmett 4-1 at Emmett in conference girls soccer.

"We played well," said Coach Ogaard. "We made some adjustments in the first half and came out in the second half and passed the ball much better and were on their half of the field a lot, which led to being able to get some scores.

"We brought some JV players that helped us, too. It was a good win."

Violeta Martinez scored two goals and Jacey Carr and Christa Lewis also scored goals. Missy Jessup had eight saves on goal for the Lady Tigers, who improved to 2-4 in conference and on the season. Mountain Home was home against Kuna on Monday and hosts Caldwell today, Sept. 18, at Eastside Park.
