Sports all-stars earn accolades for district honors

With the end of the fall high school sports seasons comes the announcement of All-Conference and All-Academic awards in District III.

In 4A Southern Idaho Conference football awards, J.T. Cristobal earned First Team All-Conference as a wide receiver.

Jake Hennessey earned Second Team All-Conference at quarterback on offense and Second Team All-Conference as a defensive back.

Skyler Podesek earned Second Team All-Conference at linebacker and Ricky Castillo earned Second Team All-Conference at defensive back.

Receiving Honorable Mention All-Conference on offense were Juan Silva at running back, Deon Salinas at wide receiver, Jon Ryan at lineman and Tony McKenzie at kicker. Honorable mention honors on defense went to Alex Rodriguez, Gage Curtis and Joe Gutierrez at linebacker and Colby Hall at defensive back.

In 4A Southern Idaho Conference volleyball awards, Dylan Dean earned First Team All-Conference. Hailey Belt was Honorable Mention All-Conference.

In 4A Southern Idaho Conference girls soccer awards, Courtney Christiansen made First Team All-Conference at fullback. Shannon Caldwell made Honorable Mention All-Conference at fullback, Adrianna Garcia and Cara Buckner both at midfielder, and Teresa Fredell, Hannah Modde and Melissa Jessup at striker.

In 4A Southern Idaho Conference boys soccer awards, Tyler McCloud made First Team All-Conference at midfielder, Jack Richelieu made Second Team All-Conference at goalie, Tony McKenzie was Second Team All-Conference at midfielder, and Honorable Mention All-Conference awards went to Tomas Guillen at goalie, Juan Sanchez at midfielder and Jeremy Wusso at striker.

In All-Conference All-Academic awards -- for athletes maintaining a grade point average of 3.50 or better -- Mountain Home volleyball players honored at the event included Selena Foster, Dylan Dean, Emilee Schetzle, Dakota Dean and Emma Wenger.

Football players honored were Jake Hennessey, Tony McKenzie, Skyler Podesek, William Negri, Tyler Elliott, J.T. Cristobal, Tyler Knauth and Andrew Hoskins.

Girls soccer players honored at the event included Cara Buckner, Sydney Baldridge, Shelby Henrick, Katherine Varnado, Hannah Modde, Adrianna Garcia and Tara Boerman.

Mountain Home boys soccer players included Tyler McCloud, Tony McKenzie, Juan Torres, Jeremy Wusso and Drew Borgholthaus.

Cross Country players were Steven Kreche, Shelby Henrick, Arisha Karren, Andy Croft, Sarah Richins, Daniel Courtright, Kacee Cameron and Taylor Croft.
