Base's housing privatization plan moves forward

A Pennsylvania firm won the contract to build and maintain all housing at Mountain Home Air Force Base.

Mountain Home Air Force Base expects to transfer ownership of its military housing area to a civilian company in coming months as part of an ongoing Defense Department initiative.

In a press release Monday, the Air Force selected Balfour Beatty Communities to assume control of military housing areas at six installations in four states, including the base here.
