An airman from Mountain Home Air Force Base remains in custody at the Ada County Jail on charges of trying to induce a teenager into prostitution.

Adrian J. Gogue, 20, was charged earlier this week with felony solicitation of a minor. Gogue is an Airman First Class assigned to the 366th Logistics Readiness Squadron.

According to a report from the Boise Police Department, detectives with the city arrested Gogue around 11:30 p.m. Friday at a parking lot near Chinden Boulevard and Eagle Road.

The arrest follows an investigation launched by the state's Internet Crimes Against Children task force, according to a press release from the Boise police. On Thursday, an outside law enforcement agency contacted the Boise police with information indicating the suspect was involved in soliciting a teenage male in a sex-for-pay proposition via text messaging.

Last week's investigation started after a relative of the teen victim called law enforcement regarding contact between Gogue and the victim. Boise police said both individuals know each other but didn't specify their relationship.

According to the report, Gogue travelled from Mountain Home believing he was going to meet the victim.

If convicted of inducing a person under the age of 18 into prostitution, he could face two years up to life in prison along with a $50,000 fine.

The state's Internet Crimes Against Children task force includes a coalition of local, state and federal law enforcement and prosecution agencies. This organization focuses on apprehending and prosecuting individuals who use the Internet to criminally exploit children, primarily sexual exploitation of children. These crimes include distribution of child pornography and using the Internet to target children for sexual abuse.
