Glenns Ferry hosts Three Island Celebration

Thursday, August 19, 2010
The Charro Mexican Cowboys provided entertainment during the day at Three Island Crossing State Park, part of the re-invented Three Island Celebration in Glenns Ferry.

Last weekend's Three Island Celebration drew a crowd of approximately 350 people to the event, according to Dale Smith, chairman of the Three Island Crossing Organization.

Although numbers were down considerably from previous years, when an actual crossing of the Snake River was held, Smith was pleased with the turn out, and hopes that future celebrations will draw even more people, both from Glenns Ferry and other communities.

"For the first year, I thought it went pretty well," Smith said. "We had a lot of local support, but I'd like to see more."
