Commissioners reject comp plan amendments

Amendments to the county's comprehensive plan rejected by the Elmore County commissioners earlier this week were aimed at clarifying future residential, agricultural, commercial and industrial growth across the county.

The Elmore County commissioners have rejected revisions to a governing document outlining industrial development in the county.

The 3-0 vote Monday morning leaves the fate of the county's comprehensive plan undecided until the commissioners readdress the issue at a public hearing at 5 p.m. Aug. 30.

"We felt it was too wide open," said Commissioner Arlie Shaw. "It was not specific enough. It was too broad."
