Letter to the Editor

Republican ballot features many contested races

Saturday, May 22, 2010

Dear editor:

I am writing to urge voters to take this Primary seriously. We, in the Republican Party have contested positions to decide upon May 25, 2010. Think carefully before you go to the polls to vote but do VOTE. Remember it is your right and duty.

We are complaining as a nation that Congress in Washington, D.C., does not read the bills put before them, they just vote. Do we want that in the Idaho Legislature? NO! It takes time to patiently read and understand each bill put before them and agonize over how each will affect those of us in Legislative District 22 and the state of Idaho.

It may not be a popular vote for some but overall the right vote.

I am supporting Sen. Tim Corder in the primary election because I KNOW he reads and researches each bill before him when it comes time to vote. He has been very sincere when writing to his constituents. He doesn't brush over why he votes yes or no but he carefully explains his reasons. When the legislature is not in session, Sen. Corder reaches out to all of us when we need advice or help with a situation that needs attention. If he can't help, he will find the person who can.

Voters, it isn't an easy job in being an elected official, but we do want someone who will stand up and be counted.

I urge you to vote for Sen. Corder.

Carleen Lord, Mayfield
