Golfers take honors at tourney

The Mountain Home Tiger golf teams had a good first showing at the SIC 4A conference tournament at Centennial Golf Course in Nampa.

The Mountain Home boys won the event with the girls finishing second.

Mountain Home, led by Stephen Elliott who shot a 38 to take medalist honors, came in first, shooting 175. Skyview was second with a 182, Nampa was three shots back at 185, and Kuna shot a 200 team score.

Besides Elliott's 38, Zach Pomerantz shot a 42, which had him in third place. Clint Butori shot a 47 and Jeff Land came in with a 48.

Skyview won the girls competition, shooting a 214 team score. Mountain Home came in at 238, three shots ahead of Nampa, and Kuna came in at 258.

Alicen Wendall and Shelby Stevens led Mountain Home, both shooting a 56. Melanie Bates came in with a 60 and Anna Bailey shot a 66.

Both the Tiger girls and boys were back in action this Monday, March 15, in Boise at a meet hosted by Bishop Kelly. Columbia and Kuna were also there.

The Mountain Home squad returns to the Centennial Golf Course in Nampa on March 22 to take on golfers from Skyview, Columbia, Nampa and Kuna.
