Cooler temperatures, cloudy skies and a threat of rain didn't dampen people's spirits as they flocked to the downtown area to celebrate this year's fall harvest festival.

Sponsored by the Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce, the day gave local residents a chance to celebrate this year's harvest while organizers also highlighted the history of sheepherding that helped the city grow in its earlier days.

During the day, the Mountain Home Historical Museum played host to an assortment of displays and hands-on demonstrations focused on a "harvesting the wool" theme. As some looked at the handmade hats and mittens, others were drawn to Carol Dunn's spinning wheel. Throughout the day, she spun fur gathered from her Angora rabbit, Maddie, who sat patiently in her pen for curious onlookers to pet.
