Local firefighter dons fire safety poster

Tuesday, August 25, 2009

Last fall, one of the training sessions of the Mountain Home Volunteer Fire Department was used to shoot a series of films and photographs that have been used throughout Idaho to encourage people to volunteer for and support their local volunteer fire departments.

The work utilized a federal grant to the Idaho Volunteer Fire and Emergency Services Association.

Recently, one of the photos shot during the promotional session has shown up in the Gowen Field airport in Boise and at the airport in Idaho Falls, part of a huge "billboard" display on the concourses at the airports. The recruiting photo shows local firewoman Elsa Guillen attacking flames at the department's training facility.
