The Mountain Home Lady Tigers returned to the win column Thursday night, sweeping the Lady Wildcats from Columbia in three games at Lloyd Schiller Gymnasium in Mountain Home.

The Lady Tigers started slow in game one, playing catch-up ball until a 6-0 run pushed them to a 13-10 lead. They increased their lead to 19-12, but Columbia fought back to within three, at 23-20.

Mountain Home then scored the last two points of the game to win it, 25-20.

In the second game, Mountain Home led 8-5 early, but saw the Lady Wildcats go on a 12-2 run to go up 17-10. The Lady Tigers then went on a 9-2 run to tie the game at 19-19. Columbia managed another tie at 21-21, but the Lady Tigers pulled away for a 25-23 win.

An 11-0 run midway through the third game gave Mountain Home a commanding 22-8 lead, and they coasted in from there for a 25-13 win to win the match three games to none.

"We started out a little bit slow yet again," said Lady Tiger coach Sarah DeVore. "We do have to find a way to get ourselves prepared and mentally into the game, regardless of what the situation looks like, and be consistent with our momentum."

Dani Dean had 15 kills for the Lady Tigers. Sammy Dodge was 19 for 19 in serves, had 17 service points, two aces, five kills and four digs.

Maggie Peterson was perfect on all 11 of her serves, had eight service points, four aces and three kills. Brandie Riggs hit 11 serves and had six service points and 24 assists. Chantell Crane had six kills.

Mountain Home hosted Skyview last (Tuesday) night and travels to Nampa tomorrow (Thursday) night. Coach DeVore hopes to use the momentum of the Columbia win against those teams.

"That was a good win for us. Every win is a good win, and coming off what was a little bit of a rough week for us in the win department, it's good to get one into the column and push into next week."
