Tennis team falls to Nampa, Kuna

The Mountain Home Tiger tennis team opened last week with losses to Nampa and Kuna.

In the first match of the season on March 13 at Nampa, the Tigers lost, 11-1, to the Bulldogs.

Mountain Home's lone win came in the number two girls singles match where Julie Remington downed Nampa's Monika Craciunescu, 6-1, 6-0.

Nora Fischer lost the number one girls singles match to Madison Gingrich of Nampa, 2-6, 2-6. Laura Lothrop lost the number three girls singles match, 1-6, 2-6, to Tami Winston.

In boys singles, Jordan Niksich lost, 1-6, 1-6, to Nate Toolson, Zach Anderson lost 1-6, 0-6 to Shawn Myers, and Keenan Galloway lost to Jordan Serdynski, 1-6, 1-6.

In girls doubles, Annie Bledsoe and Christina Gutierrez lost to Missy Brunett and Keisha Cleverly, 6-7 (5-7), 0-6, and Kelci Robinson and Lindsey Kellerman lost to Maria Vodoratskaya and Neva McConnaughy, 0-6, 0-6.

In boys doubles, Joe Miller and Thomas Martin lost to Cory Kalvelage and Victor Dimbi, 3-6, 1-6, and Ricky Guadarrama and Andrew Martin lost in straight sets to John Pukstay and Jayce Miller.

In mixed doubles, Reed Borgholthaus and Daryl Enriquez lost in straight sets to Ian Rasmusen and Tara Tuttle, and Keth Galloway and Lindsay Horgan lost to Layne Smith and Lynae Smith, 1-6, 2-6.

The Tigers were at Kuna on Thursday, where they lost a close, 7-5 match to the Kavemen. No individual results were available at press time.
