Girls finish 6th at state soccer meet

The Mountain Home Tiger girls soccer team went 1-2 at the 4A State Soccer Tournament last weekend, finishing sixth.

Mountain Home opened the state tourney last Thursday against Lakeland, the north Idaho champion, and lost to the Lady Hawks 5-0.

That put them against Hillcrest in the loser-out contest n Friday. The Tiger girls came through with a 3-2 win to keep their season alive.

Jessica Hendershot, Shianna Hawley and Jessica Egusquiza scored goals for Mountain Home.

That put Mountain Home against Sandpoint in the Consolation Final. Sandpoint had rebounded from its opening 2-0 loss to Century to eliminate Emmett, 3-0.

Sandpoint captured the consolation trophy with a hard-fought 2-0 win over Mountain Home.

The Mountain Home Tiger girls finished with a 15-3-4 overall record.
