Tigers earn conference honors

Several Mountain Home Tiger baseball players earned awards at last week's awards banquet at the high school.

Earning Academic All-Conference was Tyson Sessions. First Team All-Conference SIC awards for pitching went to Michael DesPres and Michael Hobgood.

Second Team All-Conference Infielder award went to Chris Rau, and Aaron Swartz earned Second Team All-Conference Outfielder award.

Honorable Mention All-Conference Infielder award went to Brian Fields.

In team awards voted upon by the team members, Chris Rau was voted Most Valuable Offensive Player. The Tiger freshman led the team in hitting, batting .344 on the season.

Brian Fields was voted Most Valuable Defensive Player.

Most Valuable Pitcher went to Michael Despres.

The Best Work Ethic award went to Tyson Sessions, and Michael Hobgood and Tyson Sessions shared the Most Inspirational Player award.

Tiger baseball coach Travis DeVore also announced that Tiger senior pitcher Michael Hobgood was chosen to play in the District III Senior All Star baseball game.
