The Mountain Home Lady Tigers spotted Capital two runs last Tuesday before taking the lead for good with three runs in the third. The Lady Tigers, who had 10 hits in the game, added single runs in the fourth and fifth, and four more in the sixth.

"Finally, they put it all together," said a happy Lady Tiger coach Joy Memmelaar after the game. "We struggled a little bit at the beginning, but the girls came on, their defense came on, their hits came and they just put it all together."

Michelle Reynolds picked up the win, throwing a three-hitter while striking out one and walking four. She also had a hit and two RBIs.

Ali Hillman had three hits including two doubles and knocked in three runs.

Des Walden had two hits and an RBI. Paula Doerr had a hit and RBI, Katey Woods had two RBIs, Krista Gorman, Christa Stanton and Trisha Van Meer also had hits.

Mountain Home 4

The Lady Tigers went to Middleton last Wednesday hoping to make it two straight wins, but the Lady Vikings had other thoughts, touching Mountain Home starting pitcher Carmen Santy for seven runs in the first two innings.

Mountain Home scored four runs in the third, two of them on Des Walden's single, to cut the deficit to 7-4, but could come no closer.

"We gave them a few too many extra outs every innings," said Coach Memmelaar after the game, "not picking up the ball, getting it clean, and that cost us a little bit, and gave them a few extra runs here and there, but give them credit, they hit the ball really well, off both Carmen and Ali. We just needed to make sure we got things cleanly taken care of, and we didn't quite get that down right away today."

Des Walden and Cathy Gilbert both had two hits for the Lady Tigers, Walden had two RBIs. Krista Gorman and Paula Doerr also had hits, and Ali Hillman and Trisha Van Meer had RBIs.

The Lady Tigers were at Boise yesterday (Tuesday) for a doubleheader with Boise. They host a tournament Friday and Saturday at Eastside Park.
