Some elections canceled due to lack of candidates

Following the filing deadline for declaration of write-in candidacies, the county has declared that 12 of the elections scheduled to be on the ballot in Elmore County for May 17 have been canceled due to a lack of challenges. Under a new state law, all elections are now being run by the county. To save on elections costs, the county can declare that in any races where there are no challenges the candidates who had filed in time will be declared elected...
