May 30, Pioneer Federal Credit Union in Mountain Home will sponsor a "community shred day" on May 30 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Anyone with papers they would like shredded can take them to the credit union during that time. The event is described as a way to "prevent fraud and to help people clean up their extra paperwork that they have laying around in a safe way."...

Nicholas A. Aiken of Troop 57 has been awarded the rank of Eagle Scout -- The Boy Scouts of America's highest honor. Troop 57, sponsored by First Congregational Church, held a Court of Honor April 15 to bestow the Eagle Badge. Aiken, son of Jeffery and Stephanie Aiken of Mountain Home, attends Mountain Home High School and has been involved in Scouting since September 1998...
