  • Despite spike in crime rate, city, county still safe place to live (Local News ~ 07/21/08)
    The crime rate dropped slightly in the state -- by 0.9 percent compared to 2006 -- but increased by 22.8 percent in the city of Mountain Home. "If you look at the small picture, you might think, 'The world must be coming down on us'," Police Chief John Walter said. "But last year was probably the lowest (crime rate in the city) in the last 20 years."...
