Volunteers are valuable
This is the middle of National Volunteer Week, a time to honor those who help ot hers, and a time to encourage others to help.
Most non-profit organizations could not survive without the work of their wonderful volunteers. From the Red Cross to the senior centers, youth programs, fire recovery reseeding and environmental clean-up, the list goes on of all the ways in which our world is made better by volunteers.
If you want to get involved in your community, find a cause in which you're interested and volunteer. It doesn't have to be a full-time effort. A few hours a month can make a huge difference. YOU can make a huge difference in your community and in the lives of others. Get off your duff and get involved. You have nothing to gain except the gratitude and thanks of the people you help. You have nothing to lose but your complacency.
Volunteers make this country work. So find a group, an organization, a church, and volunteer today.
And for all of you who already volunteer, thank you. know your work is appreciated and valuable.
