How to Stay Healthy in Your Apartment
Healthy should be your top priority. If you don't feel good and well rested then your production at work and in life will surely diminish. When you move into your new apartment home, here are 4 tips that can help you get a head start.
Find the Fitness Center
Probably one of the most discussed topics among renters is the security deposit. Many renters are hopeful they will receive it after they move-out from their apartment. If the landlord claims that there were damages that exceeded the deposit, then they shrug their shoulders and move on. After all the landlord or management company wouldn't lie would they? Our experts are here to tell you that you can certainly take steps that will assist you in getting the entire amount sent back to you.
Almost all large apartments have a fitness center. Many of the more modern and trendy versions will rival that of a gymnasium or club that you currently pay membership dues for. They have all of the newer equipment as well like free weights and treadmills.
Set up a routine that you know you can follow. If you go too hard too fast you will burn out. Start with a few days a week or something that you can manage. But many of us don't like going to the gym. Find a small space in your rental that you can place an elliptical machine or exercise bike.
Many of the apartment gyms also have space setup for yoga and spinning classes. Be sure to take advantage.
Sleep is Underrated
Don't cut out sleep. When you are well rested you certainly feel better and can accomplish more. You know the feeling when you are short a couple hours. The day drags on and you keep watching the clock until it's time to go home.
-Don't take your phone or computer with you to bed
-Make sure that you don't have a television set in your bedroom
-Keep your bedroom pitch black. If the blinds let light bleed in, then invest in some new blackout shades that do the trick.
-Do keep your bedroom cool and DARK
Remember your bed is for sleeping and not watching television or viewing social media on your phone
Feed Your Body the Way it was Intended
Make sure you purchase plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. Also organic meats should find a place in your diet if you are not a vegetarian. Opt for the eggs that are cage free and aren't fed a diet of grain. Nuts and seeds have many health benefits.
Remove all of snack foods like chips, sweets, and cereals full of sugar. Be sure and drink plenty of water on a daily bases. Many apartments also have water purifiers already installed.
Eliminate the Clutter
Although you might not think about it this way, clutter adds a certain amount of anxiety and stress in your life. Everyone can do with a little less clutter. Consider purchasing some unique storage items. Extra baskets can be used to store items and can easily be rolled underneath your bed or coffee table.
Hooks can be added on the inside of closets that can be used to hand everything from shoes to your clothing.
Here is a short list of items that anyone can put into use
-Stop buying so much stuff. How many of us buy things we don't need that just end up taking up space. And these items we buy usually come in boxes that someone don't make it out of our home.
-If you subscribe to newspapers and magazines, think about just keeping your subscription to the digital version. These will stack up so quickly. It's also better for the environment. If you do like your newspapers, consider recycling them. Many apartments have recycle centers.
-Go through your closet and give, donate, or sell anything you haven't worn in the last 2 years. Creating more closet space will make you feel better.
-Invest in a paper shredder. Know when you go through your mail and other sensitive documents that you store, you can just shred them. Put the shredder close to your front door.
