About another newspaper or friendly news publication

In 1997 I got the chance to move back into house near Hazzard(aka-Hagerman) that my parents and I built. On a trip to a bar in Bliss to snag a brew one afternoon took note of a want ad combination minor editorial publication called Monkey Bizzness. I called the publisher who rented office space from a computer store there in Gooding, and no nothing bad to say about either of them there. Fact is took th publisher to lunch which I paid for and in talk about putting a small ad in her publication about my towing business I asked if I could write a small blurb about going towing and restoring old farm equipment especially old John Deere's. Over the course of that year I delivered at my expense all over Hazzard, Buhl, Filer, Twin Falls, Jerome, Shoshone, Wendell, and so on that publication called Monkey Bizzness. When the same publisher wanted to sell out I made her an offer she accepted and Monkey Bizzness became the Hazzard Gazzette. News of and about a fictional community called well, Hazzard. Personal business created the need to move away and that same home was sold, and because it hurts so much to see someone else living in that same home is why I moved to Glenns Ferry rather than back home to Hazzard. Those who really know me from the time as a youth that I first lived there with my parents knows why Hagerman became nick named Hazzard. If truth be really known my only crime if you really want to call it that was having a slightly heavy foot on throttle pedal. But that's getting away from the subject here. The idea of putting together a twice weekly news publication just from a fun publication rather than the same want ad publication that would be offered free and supported with ad dollars with informative tid bits like we did at Monkey Bizzness would be great for our area. Our area like it or not is growing. Mountain Home, Glenns Ferry, King Hill and so on. People want to know whats going on and also be somewhat enterained. Invite story tellers, even creative writing students at the schools to write stories and look into the grand history that our area has to offer and tell, as well as taking an objective look at daily, or national, local, and statewide issues. That is what I think should be and yes that is the idea behind the soon to be Hazzard Gazzette,(mis-spelled on purpose) . When it comes to broadcast media, that too coud be done near here in Glenns Ferry. As this immediate area has a FCC frequency or two called an allocation. Something I'm looking into helping to become, will that be done all on my dollar? No. I know radio from behind the studio radio board. But a friend who worked for a major radio station in Salt Lake City and I are putting our heads together to put up a radio station dedcated to those trucking or going towing. Trust me friends there is a need. Can it be done? Yes, I will admit it was a pirate station in essence none FCC licensed but I long with a small 4-H Truckers project program put one together in the mid 1970's early 1980's, this time we are going at it the right way, but yes it can be done. Again getting off topic, but we really do need another newspaper here simply to create competition as comeptition makes both work harder and better for you the reader. Nuff said.
