David Bonecher

David Oren Bonecher, 89, passed away Jan. 19, 2013, in Mountain Home.

There will be no memorial service per Dave's request. Cremation is under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

Dave was born in Mountain Home, June 19, 1923, the second child of Ester and David Bonecher. He attended public schools and graduated from Mountain Home High School.

On June 11, 1941, Dave enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served on active duty during World War II. He was honorably discharged June 11, 1947.

On Nov. 9, 1947, he married Norma L. Day of Mountain Home, and on Nov. 20, 1948, Norma gave birth to their only child, Richard.

Dave worked for the National Guard out of Boise for two years, then secured a job with Civil Service, at Mountain Home Air Force Base, where he worked until retiring.

Dave and Norma spent many years camping, fishing, and hunting in the Paradise Valley area, eventually building a second home up the road from Pine. In later years they spent their winters in Arizona.

Dave is survived by his son, Richard, daughter-in-law Karen, two grandsons, Bill and Bob, three great-grand children and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Norma and sister Virginia.

The family would like to thank the management and staff at Elmore Medical Center LTCU for their compassion and excellent care during Dave's last days.
