Lydia Vaden

Lydia E. Vaden, 103, of Mountain Home, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at a local care center.

A viewing will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Friday, Nov. 2, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m., at the Minidoka-Acequia-Rupert Cemetery in Rupert.

Lydia was born Nov. 1, 1908, in Central City, Colo. She was the daughter of Antonio and Caterina (Munari) Dall'Olio, both natives from Italy.

She was schooled in Rupert, received her teaching degree at Albion Normal School and taught school in Mountain Home.

Lydia and her husband, Hayes Vaden, farmed for many years in Richfield.

She was active in the Mountain Home Senior Center and she enjoyed crocheting, gardening and being a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Lydia also traveled extensively.

Lydia is survived by her daughters; Deanna and her husband, Dean Wilson, of Mountain Home, Boots and her husband, Gary Hubsmith, of Burley; her sons, Joe and his wife, Sylvia Vaden, of Florida, Bob Vaden of Mackay, Idaho, 14 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hayes, one brother, five sisters, one grandson, Maury Dean Wilson, and one daughter-in-law, Velma Vaden.
