Bealls department store to open next week

A downtown landmark will see its first customers come walk through its doors for the first time in more than a decade when it reopens next week.

The grand opening of the Bealls department store is scheduled for 8:45 a.m. Oct. 17.

    If I'm not mistaken, we had Bealls in town once before when we first moved to town in 1985. It was across the street from Pauls on the corner of 3rd and Jackson where the video store is presently.

    OK, you got us all thinking. We are pretty sure it was the Farmstore then. We have never had a Bealls here in Mountain Home before. Thanks for the memory lane thought process. My son was preschool then. OUch! He has teenagers! lol
