Railroad grant leads to beautification effort

Jonna Barnett's artwork adorns the traffic control box in front of the Bealls department store at the corner of North 2nd East Street and American Legion Boulevard. She was one of a handful of local artists to showcase their art as part of the recent beautification effort.

A grant program from Union Pacific Railroad is helping beautify the Mountain Home community while showcasing the talents of local artists.

Over the past several months, the public art project took five of the plain, traffic control boxes located around town and gave them a facelift of sorts.
